It isn't an exclusive or wealthy church. Everything about it is very simple. It is not its purpose to feed vanity or pride with a display of vain things. It is not its aim to amuse or entertain those who attend its services. It exists here as a simple New Testament body, pointing those of its neighborhood to the Christ and God of the Bible. Its doors are open to those who, from the quiet depths of their hearts, would reach out to God in simple worship and obedient living.

There isn't much that's ready-made for you in this little church. There is no ready-made creed; you take the word of God and make it your creed by believing with all your heart everything it teaches. There are no ready-made prayers; every person prays his own earnest longing for the presence of God and for sustenance of every need. There is no ready-made music; every one makes his own music and it is sweet to the ears of God in proportion to the sincerity and humility with which you sing.

This little church represents no denomination. It simply represents the church revealed in the New Testament without addition or change. It is not a union of denominations, but is composed of people who have obeyed, "from the heart that form of doctrine once for all delivered unto the saints." It is the church Christ built upon the truth of His Divine Sonship, which He purchased with His blood, and which is to Him as a bride. It exists to unite believers in Christ and protests against the division and unbrotherliness which denominationalism reflects.

This little church is the outward manifestation of the deep conviction of many hearts that if men today will proclaim the simple message which was declared by the church in the days of the apostles; if they will worship God in the simple, sincere way in which that church worshipped; and will adopt the organization by which they functioned; and if they will serve with the humble, holy consecration that characterized its members, the same results will be multiplied, souls will be saved, God will be glorified and the name of Christ will be exalted in the hearts of men.
