Dragons - Myth or Reality?

Though much today regarding dragons is rooted in fantasy, mythology and legend, the existence of such creatures is not entirely unfounded in Scripture. In the beginning, when God created the world, the text tells us He created “dragons!” That’s right, dragons! On the fifth day, we are told God created “great sea creatures” (Genesis 1:21 — NKJV). The King James version unfortunately translates this word “whales.” Nevertheless, Strong’s concordance tells us this Hebrew word (tanniyn) means “dragon, serpent, sea monster; dragon or dinosaur, sea or river monster; serpent, venomous snake” (Strong’s #8577). It is also used in 28 other places in the Old Testament and translated “dragon” in most of them.
While the fantastic versions of these creatures, their abilities and characteristics are mythical, we cannot completely deny the existence of such creatures. We have fossil remains of dinosaurs, or great lizards. We have accounts of such creatures, not just biblically, but secularly. So, before you entirely dismiss the concept of dragons as myth, check again.
