We Can Make Angels Happy!

In Luke 15:8-10 Jesus spoke of a woman who turned her house upside down until she found a coin, and then called her friends together for a party:
"What woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and seek diligently until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!' Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
Why was it so important to her? Why such joy? Was it just the money? Some study Bibles suggest more. The drachma, was "often worn in a ten-piece garland by married women" (NKJV). It may have been a part of the dowry the woman brought to her marriage.
It was of tremendous value to her, and recovering it was reason for celebration. How valuable is a single soul to Jesus? He died to find us and bring us out of the dark house that is sin, to the celebration of new life. "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38). And the joy extends all the way to heaven itself!
