Originally given to the children of Israel on Mount Sinai as one of the Ten Commandments (Ex. 20:12), the Holy Spirit saw fit to continue this important commandment through the ages to every new generation that would set foot on this earth.

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth” (Eph. 6:1-3).

As parents, are we fulfilling our responsibility and teaching our children to obey and to honor? Are we honoring our parents? Are we promoting the promise that was given so many generations ago?
